When doing fire inspections, why do firefighters drive the firetruck and not just have one firefighter go and drive a smaller vehicle

We drive Engine 41 when doing fire inspections so that we are able to execute a quick response when a call comes in.  Furthermore, having the crew go into the various establishments allows for preplanning, the familiarization of the layout and hazards of the site in the event of an emergency.
